FAQ's: Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Why use CO2 as a power source?
A) More shoots per ounce! Compressed air is generally at a 1 to 1 ratio therefore 10 oz of air will give you 10oz worth of shoots. CO2 is actually a liquid, which converts to a gas when released from the cylinder. In the process the liquid "expands" giving you volume hence more shoots. The expansion is just under a 5 to 1 ratio.
Q) How much does it weigh when hooked onto my belt?
A) The regulator kit is less than 5 pounds total weight, making it easy to carry around the job site.
Q) What is the cost to refill the cylinder?
A) It varies, but the average cost to refill a 10 oz cylinder is $5.00
Q) How long will one cylinder of CO2 last?
A) It depends on what tool you are using, so refer to the chart found in the owners manual for specific applications.
Q) How do I know when the cylinder is running empty?
A) Unlike a battery tool that begins to weaken as the charge decreases, a CO2 system will give full power right to the last shot. Once the cylinder is empty, the gun will not discharge at all. At this point, refill and re-fire!
Q) Where do I get the C02 cylinder refilled?
A) Simply return to Grip Clinch Canada or any paintball supply company in North America can fill cylinders. To determine the closest location to you, consult the yellow pages or www.yellowpages.ca or .com in your city and search under heading of Paintball or Paintball supplies.
Q) Is CO2 harmful?
A) Because there is only a small amount of CO2 dispensed with each shoot there is no danger. To be safe, always use a JacPac CO2 system in a well-ventilated area to avoid any CO2 concentrations - even if a full 9 oz tank dispensed there would not be enough CO2 to displace all the oxygen in the area.
Q) Can I use any cylinder?
A) No, you must use a cylinder designated as "CO2" cylinder. The cylinders and subsequent threads we are using are all based on the paintball industry standards therefore any paintball CO2 cylinder brand will work.
Q) Is there a lot of maintenance to the system?
A) No, the only wear components are the cylinder O-ring and the burst valve found on the side of the cylinder. All other components of JacPac are industry-standard fittings, which have a proven durable life cycle.
Q) Will JacPac work with standard air tools?
A) JacPac uses standard hose and connector fittings therefore as long as the pneumatic tool of choice uses standard NPT connectors (industry standards) they will work.
